Is the sole trader business illegal or legal?

Sole trader is a legal business, but it does not have a legal identity. For example anyone can start a business as a sole trader but the sole trader business is not a registered business according to the law. A sole trader business cannot sue or be sued in the court of law whereas the limited company can sue or be sued in the court of law.
