To be clear I would like to tell that there is no passing or failing in the IELTS exam. This means that no matter what band you get you can never get a failing mark. People tend to fell that they have failed the exam when they do not get their desired band. Different college and universities have different band requirements and you should check out with your college or university to find out the bad which they require. Most of the colleges and universities in England and Australia accept a band score of 5.5 whereas the colleges in Canada require a band score of 6 or above.
